A Scribblers Social is a Letter Writing Social. It's actually exactly what it sounds like. It's a short time where people who enjoy the art of tangible written correspondence come together unplug from digital devices, sit, and scribble. They scribble letters, cards, missives, and notes. It's an enjoyable time where this wonderful form of communication is shared and practiced for its tactile and special inherent qualities. Writing is usually a solitary practice. I figure, folks will not discover how wonderful it is if it remains behind closed doors. Thus the "Social". It's not the chattiest of socials but there is comradery and great fun. It's communal. There is little you need to bring. There are three things you should bring: Bring your address book! Regardless of the format, this is essential. Whether a pocket sized book that has sen better days or a smartphone, you'll need your recipients postal address at the social.
Bring $5 in cash. The socials are not for profit. All the funds go right back into the social to keep it going. The social is upheld by its participants. The social provides you with stationery, cards, pens, and envelopes. We even provide the stamp for written and completed letters from the social. All outgoing mail is taken to the post for you as well! Bring a really good dose of kindness. If you are bringing kindness then you surely are bringing yourself to the social. You are an important part of the social. So don't for get that fabulous you! The next social is tomorrow Nov 15th 10am. More info here. There are too many distractions at home. Don't be shy, come on out. This is the PERFECT time to get your holiday cards started. See you there.

Hello, I’m Nina, the maven behind the
IQS blog. I’m all about creativity (ya think?). I work in several disciplines. So it's no surprise that the Art of Letter Writing would come knocking on my door. Smitten! However, I did not want to simply add MailArt as a discipline to my website. Thus it became the IQS Blog within my site. And that is why there are TWO navigation menus. *Here’s a Tip: stick with the BLOG Menu in this Column. The main site menu will lead you astray into dark places where you will be screaming for help and no one will hear you. • More Love Letters
• Letter Writers Alliance • A Month of Letters • Post Card Exchange • Snail Mail Ideas Categories
