The clock ticks letting us know that 2016's 12 Days of Love Letters is only THREE days away! What are the 12 Days of Love Letters? I hear you asking. Well, it's exactly what it sounds like. Writing at least one letter to someone who could use a love letter. The best part is you don't have to go looking for the needy (although that's totally allowed and encouraged), they will come to you courtesy of The World Needs More Love Letters (MLL).
MLL began in 2011 when Hannah Brencher was suffering from depression. Away from home studying, she came across a woman on the subway who looked worse than Hannah felt. Instinctively from nowhere Hannah wrote this woman an anonymous love letter to lift her spirits. What happened next is astounding...
Hear that story here:
Hear her TedTalk here:
Her initiative, here. Her initiative's website hosts people who are in need of a lifting love letter. Every few weeks the few chosen switch out for a fresh batch of souls in need... for the world to write to them. This is all year round, but on the 12 Days in December you get a different person to support each day! All details here.
Don't miss it! Join me this year to make Christmas better for those who need a reason to smile. Starts Monday Dec 5th through Dec 16th. Dust off your pen, get your paper, buy those stamps, and get ready to scribble some love at the MLL Twitter Party. #MLL12Days
Hello, I’m Nina, the maven behind the
IQS blog. I’m all about creativity (ya think?).
I work in several disciplines. So it's no surprise that the Art of Letter Writing would come knocking on my door. Smitten!
However, I did not want to simply add MailArt as a discipline to my website. Thus it became the IQS Blog within my site. And that is why there are TWO navigation menus. *Here’s a Tip: stick with the BLOG Menu in this Column. The main site menu will lead you astray into dark places where you will be screaming for help and no one will hear you.
